Data Transfer Nodes are now available to end users that use Talapas. This is a dedicated resource for data movement in and out of Talapas.

This new service is located at talapas-dtn.uoregon.edu. 

There are various methods for data access open to all users:

  1. Traditional ways such as scp, sftp, rsync (scp file talapas-dtn.uoregon.edu:~/your_folder)
  2. Globus transfer mechanism for large data transfers across campus and to remote data repositories
  3. Globus Publish, which allows the publication of data from Talapas: https://publish.globus.org/


COMING SOON

On campus University of Oregon researchers can access their data via Windows shares or CIFS/SMB
  1. CIFS or SMB access to your shares (\\talapas-dtn.uoregon.edu/share)


We ask users to start using this new capability if you are moving more than just a few files or are doing regularly scheduled data movement.
