A Globus Share will allow you share your files and directories to collaborators that don't have access to Talapas or regular linux permissions to read and write data.


  • Navigate to the Globus Transfer Page, https://app.globus.org/file-manager
  • Select "Talapas" as your endpoint
  • Traverse to the directory you would like to share and click on the Share button (the top icon in the middle column with 2 heads near a file folder)

  • Click "Add a shared Endpoint"

  • Enter the Share Display Name and optionally a description and keywords. Click "Create Share"

  • You will see a screen similar to below.

  • Next, click "Add Permissions - Share With" button.
  • Share with a collaborator
    • User - enter a collaborator's email address
    • Group - this refers to a Globus group not research groups on Talapas, e.g. hpcrcf
  • Click Add

  • Enter a message and if needed write permissions, click "Add Permissions"

  • The sharing status of your endpoint is displayed.
