We require that every user belong to a group headed by a UO PI, we call these groups Principal Investigator Research Groups (PIRGs). PIs are responsible for their PIRG members’ activity on the Talapas including compute usage and storage consumption. PIs have the authority to grant and revoke access member accounts and are the owner of all data belonging to the PIRG.
To request a PIRG on Talapas for research or for a UO class, send an email to racs@uoregon.edu with the following information:
PIRG name - used internally on Talapas (lowercase, ~12 characters)
PIRG PI - owner of the PIRG, responsible for members activity and costs
PIRG members - provide a list of members (please format: duckid FirstName LastName)
Storage requirements - 2TB is the entry level storage tier on Talapas, see https://hpcf.uoregon.edu/content/business-model for information on storage tiers and associated costs
Billing index - invoices are emailed monthly and provide a summary usage of the PIRGs compute (SU) and storage consumption
